Purafil Compressor Intake Filter

With the results of Purafil's Corrosion Assessment, your local Purafil representative will be able to recommend the appropriate level of filtration and the specifc Purafil media required to protect your compressor. The Compressor Intake Filter (CIF) is a multi-stage system that features filters for particulate removal as well as Purafil's patented, dry-chemical media for removal of corrosive gases. Air moves through the CIF in several sections, each filtering the air and removing pollutants:

Section 1: The first section of the CIF is a MERV 6 prefilter designed to remove particulates measuring 10 microns in diameter or greater. The purpose of this filter is to protect the following stage of Purafil chemical media from becoming coated with dust, which would reduce its efficiency.

Section 2: Following the prefilter is a stage of Purafil's patented, dry-chemical media. Purafil media within the CIF reacts with and neutralizes corrosive contaminants in the intake air. Purafil offers a variety of patented media depending on the types of corrosive gases present in your compressor's intake air. Multiple stages of media may be required to eliminate all gases of concern.

Section 3: The last CIF section is the final particulate filter. This filter is a high efficiency filter, which removes particulates equal to or greater than 1 to 2 microns.
