Purafil Technical Director, Chris Muller, was recently named the recipient of the 2008 Maurice Simpson Technical Editors Award by the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST). Chris was nominated for his comprehensive, technical paper entitled, Comparison of Chemical Filters for the Control of Airborne Molecular Contamination. The paper was published in the 2007 Journal of the IEST, garnering Chris an award traditionally presented to authors of the best technical papers published by the IEST during the preceding year.

Purafil ESD Odor Control Scrubbers
 Purafil ESD offers a wide variety of scrubbers to eliminate odors from sewage collection and processing operations. Our scrubbers require little to no maintenance for optimal performance. They remove contaminants other systems do not, such as mercaptans, aldehydes and organics. And, they use filtration media that are non-toxic, non-hazardous, and landfill disposable. Inlet Pump Station and Pretreatment:
• Mechanical Screening
• Sand Filtering

Purafil ESD systems remove odors from contained rooms located in these areas of the plant.

Primary Clarifier:
• Primary Settling Tank

Liquid overflow in the primary settling tank forces contaminated air through the Purafil ESD system, where contaminants are removed.

Sludge Treatment:
•Sludge Holding Tank

The Purafil ESD system is installed in line with the safety valve to remove odorous gases generated within the enclosed tanks.

Sludge Dewatering, Centrifuge Filters: •Centrifuge Filter Room

Individual Purafil ESD systems are applied to each problem area, reducing the amount of ventilation air required to purify the room.

Pump Stations:
•Stations near recreational facilities, residential communities, and resort areas

Purafil ESD systems are used in remote locations to remove odorous air emissions. At large pump stations, Purafil ESD systems are used in combination with other air filtration technologies to reduce high odor concentrations below odor threshold levels.
