Purafil Technical Director, Chris Muller, was recently named the recipient of the 2008 Maurice Simpson Technical Editors Award by the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST). Chris was nominated for his comprehensive, technical paper entitled, Comparison of Chemical Filters for the Control of Airborne Molecular Contamination. The paper was published in the 2007 Journal of the IEST, garnering Chris an award traditionally presented to authors of the best technical papers published by the IEST during the preceding year.

Purafil manufactures the patented Purafilter® line of pleated fiber filters for combination control of airborne particulate and molecular contaminants.

The Purafilter offers the following benefits:

• Targeted AMC control: The Purafilter is available in a variety of Purafil media combinations to assure targeted control of specific contaminants in different areas of your facility.

• Will not off--gas: Purafilter media permanently remove AMC through chemisorption, an instantaneous and irreversible chemical reaction process. Unlike activated carbon-only filters, Purafilter media transforms AMC into stable chemical compounds, which remain trapped within the media and will not desorb.

• Variety of sizes: Since each application is unique, Purafil offers the Purafilter in a variety of custom sizes and media combinations.

• Complete filtration solution: The Purafilter is a combination high-efficiency particulate and chemical filter for complete control of contaminants in a single pass.



Purafilters
 The Purafilter is the only pleated fiber filter available with potassium permanganate, for superior control of AMC. Use the Purafilter to improve process reliability, product performance, and increase yield. In addition to offering custom blends of chemical filtration, the Purafilter is available with an integral 95% (MERV 15/EU8/F8) layer of filtration for high-efficiency control of particulate contaminants.
Purafilter - CG
 The Purafilter is available in two models: the Purafilter-CG for recirculation air applications and the Purafilter-FFU for use in fan filter units.

Both the Purafilter-CG and the Purafilter-FFU are available in a variety of Purafil media for control of specific gases in specific areas of cleanrooms. They are constructed of cleanroom-compatible materials that do not emit molecular contaminants at levels that would pose a risk to cleanroom processes.
