Purafil Technical Director, Chris Muller, was recently named the recipient of the 2008 Maurice Simpson Technical Editors Award by the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST). Chris was nominated for his comprehensive, technical paper entitled, Comparison of Chemical Filters for the Control of Airborne Molecular Contamination. The paper was published in the 2007 Journal of the IEST, garnering Chris an award traditionally presented to authors of the best technical papers published by the IEST during the preceding year.

Purafil OnGuard® Environmental Reactivity Monitor The OnGuard® Environmental Reactivity Monitor (ERM) measures in real-time the overall reactivity level of airborne molecular contaminants (AMC) present in the local environment and transmits this data directly to the building management system via a 4-20 mA output signal. Our patented OnGuard technology was developed specifically for airborne corrosion monitoring and is sensitive to levels at or less than one part per billion
The OnGuard ERM uses copper and silver quartz crystal microbalance sensors to measure the mass accumulation of the corrosive films that results from the reaction with AMC.
