Purafil Wins 2010 Exporter of the Year Award. Purafil, Inc., the leading single-source manufacturer of gas-phase air filtration systems, recently won the 2010 Exporter of the Year Award in the Environmental Category. Each year, ThinkGlobal Inc., the publisher of Commercial News USA, selects 11 U.S. companies as Exporter of the Year recipients within their respective industry categories. Purafil Attends Aqua Netherlands Exhibition. Purafil and its local representative firm, Twin Filter, will exhibit at the Aqua Netherlands Exhibition on Tuesday, March 16 through Thursday, March 18, 2010 in the Evenementenhal Gorinchem. International water professionals will converge in The Netherlands to participate in dialogues, seminars and workshops highlighting innovations and trends in water treatment, management and technology. Purafil Rolls Out the Red Carpet for Estonian Counselor of Economic Affairs. On February 10, Purafil, Inc. welcomed the Estonian Counselor of Economic Affairs, Viljar Lubi. During this trip to Purafil’s headquarters from the Estonian Embassy in Washington D.C., Lubi toured the facility, state-of-the-art laboratory and the chemical and equipment plants while learning about the company’s extensive exporting history. His visit to Atlanta also included meetings with an exclusive group of organizations and institutions in an effort to examine Estonia’s fruitful importing and exporting opportunities. Purafil was honored to host Mr. Lubi and to participate in discussions that may propel international trade.

 

 

 

Purafil's new GridBLOK™ technology was recently received the Dealer Design Award (DDA) Gold Award for Indoor Air Quality. The annual competition is sponsored by The Air Conditioning Heating & Refrigeration (ACHR) News and the product coverage was published in the July 13 issue of The News magazine. An independent panel of 41 contractors acted as judges in the contest that had 124 entries from 84 different brands. Winning entries in the Dealer Design Awards were featured in the July 13, 2009 issue of The ACHR News, which is distributed nationally to over 33,000 HVACR contractors, wholesalers, and other industry professionals.

Purafil’s Research & Development Manager, Bill England, spearheaded the new media’s formulations. “We are honored to accept this prestigious award from The ACHR News,” England proclaims. “We are fortunate to have two products that have received the Gold Award for Indoor Air Quality and we will continue to manufacture quality media, filters, units and monitors to provide optimal gas-phase air filtration.” According to News Publisher John Conrad, “These awards give us a unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding research and development efforts that go into many of the products serving the HVACR industry and the awards issue gives our readers an opportunity to read about innovative installation and service solutions.” The GridBLOK is available in five media compositions: the IAQ GridBLOK, Purakol® GridBLOK, Puracarb® GridBLOK, Puracarb® AM GridBLOK and Chlorosorb® GridBLOK. Each composite combats several gaseous contaminants and they can be combined to provide the best performance in a wide range of applications. The GridBLOK technology inside the PuraGRID filter successfully completes Purafil’s family of products.

Purafil Prepares to Exhibit at Pollutec Horizons 2009 in The City of Light. Purafil and its two local representative firms in France, Warwick Adriss and Puratech, will exhibit at Pollutec Horizons in Paris at the Villepinte Exhibition Center from Tuesday, December 1 through Friday, December 4, 2009. More than 40,000 industry professionals are expected to attend the tradeshow. Pollutec projects that more than 50% of the attendees specialize in the environment/eco-activity or industrial sectors. Therefore, Pollutec Horizons is a great opportunity for Purafil to discuss its engineered clean air solutions with new and existing endusers. Purafil ESD develops Odorcarb™ Ultra, which has the highest removal capacity for hydrogen sulfide gas on the market. Odorcarb Ultra is the first activated alumina media with the ability to remove 0.30 grams of hydrogen sulfide per cubic centimeter of media. Odorcarb Ultra replaces Odorcarb II as the primary component of Purafil ESD’s odor control applications. Similar to its predecessor, the new, improved media also contains the Media Life Indicator Pellets (patent-pending). The blue pellets appear white after chemisorption to distinguish new media from spent media. Odorcarb Ultra is UL classified and landfill disposable.

 

 

Purafil’s Environmental Systems Division (ESD), a global, single-source gas-phase air filtration manufacturer, recently joined the Chlorine Institute (Ci) as an Associate Member. As a new associate member, Purafil can assist the Ci develop specifications for projects that require air scrubbing. For 85 years, the Ci has intertwined chlorine safety standards and member companies that produce, distribute and use chlorine. Purafil provides a proactive solution for an accidental chlorine leak. Purafil’s maintenance-free, hazardous-free, dry-chemical emergency gas scrubbers (EGS), which are sized up to 3-tons and bulk-filled with Chlorosorb® Ultra Media, are optimal for facilities that manufacture, house, distribute, or transport chlorine.
