Mr. Michael DelGais, Strategic Accounts Manager
Michael previously served as Purafil’s Product Manager over Emergency Gas Scrubbers (EGS), for control of toxic chlorine and sulfur dioxide releases at water treatment facilities, and gas-phase filters, for control of Airborne Molecular Contamination (AMC) in cleanrooms. In 2004, he took on Purafil’s EGS product line and has steadily increased sales by over 40 percent. His leadership abilities are apparent in the sales upswing just 12 months after his promotion. In addition to the boost in EGS sales, he also devised a comprehensive conversion plan for wet scrubbers. Michael’s additional responsibilities are also linked to his past successes with the company. Purafil’s newly released, patent-pending Chlorosorb ® Ultra Media is among the products Michael helped to develop. Chlorosorb ® Ultra has a 15% removal capacity. Therefore, he was appointed to spearhead a program based on the Purafil Conversion Plan for Wet Scrubbers and Chlorosorb ® Ultra media. “In addition to making scrubbers smaller and less costly, the new Chlorosorb ® Ultra can be used to convert most wet scrubbers that use hazardous, caustic materials into non-hazardous dry chemical scrubbers,” Michael proclaims. Mr. Richard Dohn, Equipment Plant Operations Manager For more than 15 years, Rich has worked in a manufacturing setting as the manager. His expertise is immeasurable and has garnered respect among his peers at past companies as well as Purafil. Since joining Purafil six years ago, Rich readily wears several hats in addition to excelling as Equipment Plant Operations Manager. He also spearheads the management duties for ISO 9001/Total Quality, Quality Control/Materials, MRP/Inventory Control, Master Scheduling/Forecasting and Product Expansion. Rich balances each task with perfection as he fittingly serves as the administrator for Purafil’s Lean Thinking Initiatives. He is no stranger to sowing and reaping the vast benefits of hard work. Prior to joining Purafil, Rich worked for Rodenstock of America as the Manufacturing Manager where he was charged with overseeing maintenance and operations of $15 million in manufacturing equipment. In a short time, he demonstrated his keen ability to strive toward the “big picture.” While at Rodenstock of America, Rich boosted production yield by 50% and he realized a $1.8 million improvement for the first fiscal year he spent with the company. Rich also spent 10 years with Essilor of America as Production Manager and was notably responsible for the manufacturing of the first color changing lens now sold internationally as the “transitions” lens. Rich seemingly envisioned his management career even before completing his studies at West Virginia University with a bachelor of science in Production Management. His track record is saturated with divisive choices he made to improve his employees, department and company. In past positions as well as his current position, Rich has asserted himself as a bottom-line oriented professional within the manufacturing industry. Rich’s vast experience and intuitive ideas intertwine with those of his skilled counterparts on the Purafil leadership team, which allows the team to carry the torch as the leader in the industry. Mr. David Clay, Chemical Plant Operations Manager
David is familiar with the intricacies of the company plant and what elements are necessary to ensure it runs like a well-oiled machine because he previously served as the Production Manager and then moved up the rankings to Chemical Plant Manager. He joined Purafil in 1999 and quickly began to implement positive changes in the production process. As Production Manager, he oversaw the employees in the chemical plant and the metal shop. After two years, David was promoted to Chemical Plant Manager. During this time, David’s expertise began to shine as he cultivated the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and the Just in Time (JIT) techniques to reduce lead-times from four weeks to two weeks on finished goods such as media and modules. During 2004-2005, the University of Georgia alumnus was also responsible for a monumental feat: the chemical plant produced 4.5 million pounds of chemical filtration media, which was the largest amount in Purafil’s history. In 2006, David was promoted to his current position; and in less than two years, he has been able to attain more record-breaking achievements. He is charged with forecasting and maintenance of capital expenditure budgets for the chemical plant, maintenance, safety and logistics. David analyzed the forecasting models and, for the first time, exceeded the budgetary shipment figures through May 2006. He has also developed systems for freight quotes and internal document tracking, in addition to designing and coordinating the installation of a new production line that increased output, indoor air quality and helped to produce a cleaner finished product. Prior to joining Purafil, David gathered vital experience while he served as the Inventory Control/Planning Manager before being promoted to Production Manager at Diversitech Corporation. Before working at Diversitech, he worked as the Production Coordinator for Atlanta Packaging Specialties. David and his loving wife Karen have a six-year-old daughter. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoys working on his golf swing. Prior to building a career in production operations management, he worked with stonework and brickwork. David, a native of Athens, GA, continues to use these handy skills around the house. |
